University of Washington-Tohoku University: Academic Open Space (UW-TU:AOS), established in April, 2017, is an administrative framework to catalyze collaborative research, education and information exchange between these two leading research institutions of the Pacific Rim. It brings researchers from academia, industries and government together to discuss technological challenges, share their research, explore opportunities for joint projects, promote innovation and discovery, and further provide an administrative infrastructure to facilitate international cooperation.
